Pathology and Bacteriology. Edited by German Sims Woodhead, M.D. Vol. I. Nos. I. and II. Edinburgh : Young J. Pentland. 1892. There has long been felt the want of a publication containing reports of experimental and bacteriological research in pathology, and which shall appeal to a larger circle of readers, and be of more general interest than are the proceedings of the Pathological Society. This Journal, which we owe to the energy of Dr. Woodhead, is intended to supply such a want. If the succeeding numbers come up to the-level of these, we shall soon escape the reproach that English pathologists do but little towards the advancement of a science on which the progress of practical medicine and surgery so largely depends. It is obviously impossible to give even a sketch of the

Clinico-pathological findings of Clostridium perfringens type D enterotoxaemia in goats and its hemolytic activity in different erythrocytes
The present investigation was conducted to study the effects of experimental Clostridium perfringens type D enterotoxaemia in teddy goats. Clinical signs started to appear after 30 min of experimental infection like anorexia, diarrhea, dehydration, frothing and dyspnea. Gross lesions consisted of severe congestion in tissues of varying intensity with enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes while histol...

BACKGROUNDS: Uterine infection is a amajor problem in reproductive management. OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to find out the common pathological condition of cattle and buffaloes' uteri in the Ahwaz region and, also to compare uterilesions. METHODS: One hundred and thirty eight cattle and 101 buffalo uteri were examined for macroscopic lesions, opening them through the cervix to the ape...
متن کاملIsolation and molecular identification of Mycoplasma equigenitalium from equine genital tracts in northern India
Although Mycoplasma equigenitalium has been implicated in equine reproductive problems, its prevalence is largely unexplored due to the lack of specific diagnostic tests. To address this limitation, the authors developed and optimized species-specific primer pairs that target M. eguigenitalium rpoB (RNA polymerase B subunit) gene sequences. The specificity of the PCR assay developed in this stu...
متن کاملA Survey On Urinary Pathogens And Their Antimicrobial Susceptibility Among Patients With Significant Bacteriuria
Background and Objective: Urinary tract infection (UTIs) is one of the most common diagnosed infectious diseases. In order to determine the spectrum of bacterial etiology and antibiotic resistance pattern of the uropathogens that cause community acquired UTI, a retrospective study was performed in Research Center of Reference laboratories of Iran on urine samples of referred patients during ...
متن کاملThe Microbial Surface Components Recognizing Adhesive Matrix Molecules (MSCRAMMs) Genes among Clinical Isolates of Staphylococcus aureus from Hospitalized Children
Background:Isolates of Staphylococcus aureus express a myriad of adhesive surface proteins that play important role in colonization of the bacteria on nasal and skin surfaces, beginning the process of pathogenesis. The aim of this study was to screen several of the Microbial Surface Components Recognizing Adhesive Matrix Molecules (MSCRAMMs) genes among the isolate of S. a...
متن کاملDetection of icaABCD Genes and Biofilm Formation in Clinical Isolates of Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus
Background & Objectives: Methicillin resistance Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is one of the most important pathogens that causes several nosocomial and community infections. Adhesion to surfaces and biofilm formation is considered main step in staphylococcal infection. The aims of this study were to determine presence oficaABCD genes and relation to the biofilm formation in of...
